Every woman craves that perfect pair of shoes. For work or a night on the town, be sure they feel as good as they look. You deserve it! Here are some great tips for finding that perfect pair of comfortable shoes.
When trying on shoes, wear the socks you would normally wear. Try on both shoes and walk around the store. Don’t buy them if you feel they need to be “broken in” to be comfortable.
Don’t limit yourself to a size. Every foot and every manufacturer is different, so keep an open mind. A good way to find comfortable shoes is to use shoes you already own as a guide. Why do you love those black pumps so much? Try to find similarities when looking for a new pair. Also, keep in mind your own foot type. If you have wide feet, you may need to go up a size.
High heels are often the choice of the fashionable, but aviod stilettos. Try heels that have a wide base and are only a couple inches high. This provides better weight distribution are lessens the chance of accidental injury. Also find shoes with round or boxed toes. The more pointy the toe, the more the shoes will crunch your feet into an unnatural position which is extremely uncomfortable and can cause more serious foot problems with continued wear.
Luckily, for the pointy-toe pump fans, you can look for shoes with a false front. These keep your toes from being squished but still keep the look. The heel on a pump should be directly below the center of the heel on your foot. This helps emensely with balance.
Choose natural uppers. Leather, suede and fabric breath better than synthetics and lowers the chance you will get blisters.
While flats are usually recommended as a good comfort choice, be selective. They should have good arch support and not rub your heels or crush your natural toe shape. Not enough arch support will make even the most comfortable shoes intolerable to wear.
One often overlooked aspect of buying comfortable shoes can be found on the inside. Make an effort to check for loose seams or anything that will rub onto your heel or toes. Check shoes with openings for potential rubbing on the top of your foot as well. Make one final check for anything else on the inside that could be a problem while walking. Again, walk around in the store to be sure of the fit.
