Not only did the Jordan 2 feature a large Nike swoosh logo on the side of the shoe, but the shoe has multiple predoninant colors. Michael Jordan stepped onto the court wearing the Black and Red Jordan 2 which was banned by the NBA for not matching the on court dress code. Nike launched a multi-million dollar campaign selling the public that the Jordan 2’s were so great that they were illegal and Nike was also more than willing to pay Jordan’s tab of $5,000 per game fine for wearing the Jordan 2.

Nike released many colors of the Jordan 2 - something that revolutionized the sneaker industry. The Jordan 2 was released in 23 different colorways if you include all samples. Many were extremely limited and exclusive to certain areas, but no matter what corner of the globe you were in, there was a huge demand for the Air jordan 2.

The White/Black-Red and Black/Red Air jordan 2’s were released as “retros” in 1994 right after Jordan announced his retirement and sold VERY poorly. So badly that many pairs hit clearance centers for $19.99 or less (today a brand new pair of these is worth $500+).

In 2001, Nike tried a second round with retroing and the Air jordan 2 was much more successful. The Air jordan 2 was retroed in 14 total colorways from 2001-2003.

The Air jordan 2 is a legendary shoe and is the holy grail of most sneaker collectors because of its history and since it was the first Jordan shoe launched.

This was after seeing Jordan perform a wonderful three years in North Carolina and co-captain and star of the Olympic basketball team in 1984 which as you all know picked up the gold medal.
Nike understood that this player would turn out to be something else and signed him up to create a line of shoes and appearal.
Banned design - backlash or marketing trick
The Air Jordan I was designed by Peter Moore and marked a new era in basketball shoewear design.
There has been multiple fakes of this shoe and also other shoe brands made models where you could see lots of similarities with Air Jordan I.
The black/red model was banned by the NBA back in 1985 due to NBA color rules and this actually helped to create more publicity and interest for the shoes. Who knows, it might have been a marketing trick from Nike.
A great thing with the original Air Jordan I's were that they came with a double set of laces to match the two different colors the shoe was made up in. For instance the black/red's came with one set of black laces and one set of red laces.
When talking about colors it should also be said that the Air Jordan I's were the Air Jordan's that were released in the most colorways of all AJ's. 23 colorways (samples included) even beats the number of Air Jordan XI retros.
The white/black-red and black/red were released as retros in 1994 and sold very poorly. Noone seemed to want them. They went on sale for $20 at some stores in the US
In 2001 they re-retroed them and this time around the demand was a lot greater. At some stores they sold out in just a few minutes. I bet a few of the people buying them was wishing they were around back in '94...

We recently featured the Nike Dunk Low SB - Sky / Pink, and here we feature pictures of another colorway. This time around, the model sports a high ankle design, and are still considered samples. This year, Nike introduced us to the Skinny Dunk, as well as their Nike Sportswear collection. Since then, we’ve seen multiple design from both, and Nike continues to amaze us with unique designs. Here we feature the Nike Sportswear Skinny Dunk - Checker Pack, which is a two-sneaker pack slated to release within the next few months.

They consist of two colorways, both of which feature a checkered pattern. One sports a red / white design while the other features a white / navy design. We’ll keep you guys updated as to a specific release date once we are updated.

Air Max Tricky’s will be hitting stores this Spring season. Nike took the classic Air Max 1 sole, gave it a good amount of quilted patterns on the upper and also on the lining and gave the toe box a new construction. Both the choice of leathers is interesting and the construction overall as well. Even the tongue got a quilted pattern. The Nike Swoosh appears in gold on the tongue. The Nike Nike Air Max line has had a long and impressive history of constantly innovating and providing stylish ultra-functional sneakers in the process. The latest offering in the line is the Nike Air Max + 2009 Running Shoe, a sleek new model with some very nice touches like Flywire technology and a full 360 Nike Air Max sole unit, so you know they will be both lightweight and well-cushioned. The shoe also features a partially transparent upper that reveals the Flywire and a mesh underlayer. Two men’s and two women’s models will make up the initial drop. The fellas will have grey/black/blue and silver/volt/black colorways to sink their teeth into, while the ladies versions will come in grey/orange and grey/silver/liquid lime. All four colorways of the men’s Nike Air Max + 2009 and women’s Nike Air Max + 2009 will be hitting NikeStore on April 4th but you can pre-order them now.

These kicks feature a canvas upper, completely coveblue by thinly spaced University Blue stripes over a white base. The pattern changes slightly on the toe box and around the ankle with the lines becoming much finer, creating a more solid appearance on those sections in the process. White accents are incorporated on the Swoosh, midsole, lining and laces, with a classic gum outsole supplying a final style touch.
